It has been said that we live in the “Information Age,” yet a quick search on google might lead one to conclude that it is more accurately stated as the “Mis-information Age.” Rumors, rhetoric, lies, and deception fill webpage after webpage. The ability to copy, paste and repost spreads the “lie” and lends legitimacy in many cases by shear volume of similar pages. Defending and responding to every critique would be a full time job and a huge distraction. Over my years here in Kansas City, I’ve spoken with Mike and countless others who actually live here and participated in the ministry in those days. IHOPKC Forerunner Media Institute

On Friday, May 8th, Julie Meyer shared with the IHOP–KC community some powerful and impactful dreams and encounters with the Lord that she has had recently. Amongst these was a word about “God’s Media Army” and the raising up of a new generation of “Media Messengers”. We wanted to share this word with you as friends of IHOP–KC, and also, in light of this, to encourage those who feel called to media to get trained as media messengers in our new Media Institute being launched as part of the International House of Prayer University.Launching on July 20th, 2009, the Forerunner Media Institute is offering a one-year crash course in media skills in the midst of a prayer meeting that has been going night and day for ten years. Housing and food are all included to help our students as they transition to Kansas City, and to further ensure a holistic approach to training for this period of time. At the end of the year we wish to see young adults who are not only skilled in media, but who also burn with a passion for God. Students at the Forerunner Media Institute will be immersed in the life of the IHOP–KC Missions Base—in the prayer room, in the classroom and in video production training. In addition to the core Bible and life skills training in the Forerunner Curriculum, students are given 101 classes in all areas of media production as well as hands-on training in The Prayer Room TV broadcast. This is an Institute where you will end up with a living, working faith based around practical media skills.
