JESUS LOVES THE LOCAL CHURCH
Ephesians 5:25-27 – “Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.”
CREATING A CULTURE OF PRAYER
A culture of prayer in the church (more than 99% not in full-time occupational ministry) is an idea that belongs exclusively to the Lord. Culture of prayer: a culture of encountering God that is in every aspect of the local church, the thread that holds the body together and keeps us one with the Head-Christ Jesus.Ephesians 5:23 – “Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.” The praying church that God is raising up in the earth will have environments where the congregation can experience Jesus and corporately encounter the Head of the Church and letthe Teacher teach His people. “The sanctuary of the Lord shall be in the center.” – Ezekiel 48:10
THINKING LIKE A PRAYER EVANGELIST
On the weekend I’ve started to view the majority of those in attendance as an un-reached people group in the area of prayer and encountering God. Even if someone has been born again for several years there is still a very good chance they struggle in prayer and encountering Jesus.
Some of my current assumptions:
Most people don’t know what to do in prayer.
Many believers feel like failures in prayer.
Many who have experienced corporate prayer have probably had more bad experiences than good ones.
Minimal to no understand on why corporate prayer is valuable.
Prayer is more caught more than taught. There’s no shortage of teaching on prayer, but there can easily be big gaps that form between theprayer class and the prayer closet, the prayer message and the prayer meeting.
