Contending For Your Destiny Pt. 3

boxing glovesWhen we speak about dreams (or destiny), we aren’t talking about a goal, desire, or the “American dream.”  We are talking about one’s destiny, calling, or even life’s mandate.  If this is something you can accomplish in your own strength, resources, or relationships, then it isn’t God-sized or God-given.  It also isn’t something you dream up on your own in a “goal planning session.” That doesn’t mean it has to be all mystical and prophetic, it may just be ordinary. It may come as a desire of your soul for from your “holy sanctified imagination.”

“God is looking for a people through whom He can do the impossible.  Isn’t it a pity we only plan to do for God the things we can accomplish ourselves.” A.W. Tozer

Think of Moses and the Red Sea, Joshua and Jericho, David and Goliath, Gideon and his army.  If God doesn’t show up then we are dead in the water.  But God shows up because He loves to partner with us!

Someone once said, “Anything worth having is worth fighting for!” We must learn to contend for that which is ours! He paid the price to give it to us, know we hold-fast to the dream that He has given us. It is your birthright value it and contend for the dream.

3I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend (fight) earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. (Jude 3)

Contend: to fight for something while striving against the difficulties that hinder its release.  We must have a vision to walk in everything that God will give the human spirit in this generation, with a holy pain concerning our powerlessness and spiritual barrenness (Matt. 5:4).

The apostle Jude exhorted the believers under his leadership to fight earnestly to walk in the faith or in the quality of life in the Spirit that was originally given to the saints by the first apostles. We contend for New Testament doctrine in our understanding.

We contend for NT lifestyles including purity, prayer, and fasting (Matt. 5-7)We contend for NT power in our life, which is a breakthrough of the fullness of God’s power.

moving forwardThere is no neutral ground in the kingdom.  You are either taking ground in the kingdom or losing ground.  Even standing requires action. It is an Ephesians 6 reality.

Having done all stand and contend!
