A Trip To The Ocean

One brother goes on vacation to the ocean. He pulls up into the parking lot, gets out of the car, snaps a few photos, buys a T-Shirt and then goes home and tells everyone he went to the Ocean.

Another brother goes on vacation to the ocean does all of those things, walks along the beach, skips a few rocks and shell and runs into the surf, and then goes home and tells everyone he went to the Ocean.

Third brother goes on vacation to the ocean does all of those things, but is not content he’s heard there is more to the ocean. He puts on a mask, snorkel and fins and sees a whole new world beneath the surface of this ocean! Drawn into beauty few ever see first hand. He went to the Ocean.

Fourth brother goes on vacation and does all of those things…but he has heard there are even more wondrous treasures to behold. He puts on scuba gear and begins to descend the depths of the oceans wonders and beauty! Seeing things few have ever seen. He went to the ocean.

All of these people went to the Ocean….the same is true with the Word of God: some are content to read, memorize, study, or meditate. All encounter the Word…I want more than a t- shirt I want to descend the depths of HIS Word!

⁸ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
