Greater Impact Than You Realize

What comes to mind when you think of the job of Ambassador? A diplomat of the highest rank. Someone who represents and can speak on behalf of a person, nation or kingdom. A person of influence who can negotiate on behalf of others. One who is a well educated, compensated, and probably has authority to commit the people and resources of their nation to causes to which they agree.

In Second Corinthians 5:20, Paul writes, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ….” The word “ambassador” one who fulfills the duties of an ambassador. How amazing that Paul would use this word to describe us!

Jesus said that “If you’ve seen me you’ve seen the Father!” He was an exact re-presentation of the Father. We are called to “re-present” Jesus to our generation. To those who are in our life space.

Most of us will never travel the globe, and our sphere of influence and impact may not look as grand as we would like to imagine. Someone said, “In God’s economy digging a ditch or standing on a platform & ministering to 50,000 people, the pay is the same.” How can this be? Because at the end of the day Heaven’s metrics for reward gives extra weight to the posture of our heart verses the greatness of our accomplishments.

Have you ever felt insignificant? Or that your “job” had little kingdom impact? You are important in the Kingdom! You are an Ambassador for Christ. You re-present Jesus to your family, friends, co-workers, customers, and neighbors. You’ve been given royal authority and power, including the name of Jesus and the Word of God. The Angel Armies of Heaven are available to assist!

Remember who you are today! Jesus gave you this assignment, not the Angels but you. Why? Because He believes in you and has equipped you for every good work! You’re gonna get good at this! Go impact your world!
