Pray For Honduras

Hello my family of intercessors!

Some of you may know that I am presently in Honduras until the end of the week with missionaries who have been working with the poor and specifically the many orphans here in Honduras. I am also traveling with a family that is in the midst of adopting two Honduran children into their family. The vision of the missionaries we are staying with is to save and transition Hondurans off the streets and out of orphanages(that are often abusive) and into Christian families that will love and care for the children either here in Honduras or Internationally.

However, this could all change as of this Sunday. The president of Honduras has issued an order for the Honduran Military to issue a “vote” that would drastically change this nation into a communist nation over night. Some of the specifics of the “vote” would be that every child after the age of 3 would become property of the state and no one would have any say over their lives. Adoption of any child would literally become illegal and impossible. The missionaries we are here with would no longer be able to continue in their ministry and would most likely have to leave the country ASAP. Because of the corruption of the Honduran government it would be a tragedy if this even goes into a “vote”. What we need to pray for is that the Honduran military lawyers will find this order from the president unconstitutional and that it will not be carried out into a vote that could potentially be tampered with.
